Our aim at the Starchild Community is to provide and foster a space for learning, information exchange, discussion and debate. We have created the following set of Community Rules to help foster an environment of mutual respect and trust.
These apply to contributions to the discussion forum and chat room.
-
You are responsible for any content you post. Where it relates to an existing discussion topics, ensure that it is relevant and will prove useful to other students taking part.
-
Keep the content of discussions on topic. We are a metaphysical and psychic community.
-
Read all of a discussion in progress (we call this a thread) before posting replies.
-
You are also responsible for copyright infringement. Please do not post copyrighted material in your messages unless you yourself hold the copyright or have received permission from the author.
-
Please be polite and respectful towards other people of the community, and remember that others may not always share your point of view. Disruptive, offensive or abusive behavior will not be tolerated. This is a sensitive area and the Starchild Team reserve the right to take action if requested by a community member: remember: your debating style may seem 'excitable' to you but intimidating to others. Any such postings will be removed.
-
Consider that a large audience will see your posts. Take care in what you write as your words may be stored for a very long time in a place to which many people have access. We do log all our chats.
-
Please do not use the community for self-promotion. This can take the form of advertisements for your professional services, products etc. or repeated promotion of other websites/blogs/networks etc. If you have a reasonable cause for promotion or would like to be sponsored in some form, please contact us.
-
Please consider other people at all times when using the interactive spaces at Starchild. Behavior that deters other members from engaging with the community is considered offensive. Allow other members to contribute and do not dominate discussions.
-
Neither post nor respond to incendiary material.
-
Please remember that some people many not be native English speakers; keep you language simple and clear for this sake. Likewise, some members may not be very skilled with computers; please show reasonable patience to those learning to use chat rooms and message boards.
-
When you enter the chat-room please use your real first name and last initial. This helps us identify who is who. If it is your first time to the chat-room please inform Lisa or Thomas as soon as you get there. Likewise, use the same name for forum posts.
-
If you post your email address on the message board you are consenting to allowing other students to email and contact you.
In the unfortunate event of any student abusing the community in any of the ways above, the Starchild Team reserve the right to remove and edit postings as well as kick, silence, and ban members..
